Chocolate Butterscotch Rice Krispies

What I love about this recipe is that there are no marshmallows. I am not a huge marshmallow fan (unless it's in the creamed version..yum), so I was even more excited when I saw my husband's grandma makes these for the first time. However, to replace the stickiness, there's karo syrup instead. To each his own I guess! :) Honestly though, these will forever change the way you eat rice krispies!
Bring to Boil (Don't Stir):
- 1 cup white karo syrup
- 1 cup sugar
Take off heat & add:
- 1 cup Peanut Butter
- 6 cups Rice Krispies.
Put mixture in a greased Pyrex pan (9x13)
Topping: - 1 heaping cup of chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet, depending on how dark you prefer) - Almost 1 cup of butterscotch chips.
DIRECTIONS: Microwave until not fully melted. Stir and pour on top.
Put in a chilled place to cool.
