For over a year, I’ve been searching for the Cookie Dough @oreo but cannot for the life of me find it in any of the stores across the multiples states I’ve visited in this last year. I finally gave up and decide to create it myself—but better. 😏 I added my homemade chocolate ganache to my homemade edible cookie dough then sandwiched it between two flawless Oreo cookies. It’s the best thing since milk & cookies! And trust me, you’ll need milk with this one.🥛
NEED:
- bag of regular Oreos
- edible cookie dough (see recipe below)
- chocolate ganache (see recipe below)
EDIBLE COOKIE DOUGH:
½ cup unsalted butter, softed
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
3 tablespoons milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated: bake at 350 F for 15-20 minutes to kill bacteria. Do not let it brown. Let cool before using.)
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ cup Mini chocolate chips
CHOCOLATE GANACHE:
+1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (we like Kirtland brand from Costco)
+1/2 cup whipping cream
+1-2 drops of black food coloring gel (optional)
Heat cream in microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Pour over chocolate chips in a bowl or large glass measuring cup. Let sit for 5 minutes. Mix until smooth. Let cool 5ish minutes.
COOKIE ASSEMBLY:
+Scrape the cream from the center of the Oreo (or keep it-your choice).
+Roll a quarter size ball of cookie dough.
+Flatten the dough and carefully sandwich it between the two cookie ends.
+Dip half in chocolate ganache.
+Place on a sheet of parchment paper and chill for 15+ mins.
